The Africa of your dreams is calling. Spanning tens of thousands of square kilometers and teeming with Africa’s most iconic wildlife, UNESCO World Heritage Site Okavango Delta does not disappoint. From day one you will disconnect from your bustling life back home and settle in to the picturesque sights and roaring sounds of the African wild. Join us in our outstanding partnership with Wilderness Safaris.
The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland deltas. Here you will have the opportunity to traverse its winding waterways, spotting hippos and endemic birds from the comfort of your guide-driven mokoro (canoe). The Delta is one of the richest and most varied habitats in Africa, offering a huge diversity of flora and fauna. From hyenas to lions to crocodiles, you’d best keep your camera ready. Then make your way to the Linyanti Concession area, known for its dramatically changing ecosystem. Linyanti is the home of the Savute Channel, a river that dries up 20 years at a time before flowing back. It returned in 2008. Expect to see lots of wildlife!
This is a comfortable, safari camp-based journey, providing accommodations designed to feel serene while also minimizing the barrier between you and nature. All camps are located in exceptional wildlife and wilderness areas with superb viewing opportunities, so expect to see a lot of animals even from the comfort of your accommodations. The properties mentioned here are a sample of the many available in the area.
This safari stands alone as an excellent wildlife exploration of Botswana. There are, however, opportunities to extend longer in other areas of Botswana, Zimbabwe, or South Africa. We highly recommend a visit to Victoria Falls or Cape Town as a nice finish to any trip to the region.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Maun Flight to Okavango Delta
Upon arrival in Maun, you are met by a guide and escorted to your 30-minute flight to Little Vumbura Camp in the Okavango Delta. Spend the rest of your day enjoying the camp at your leisure.
Vumbura is a small, intimate camp, featuring a peaceful island location, abundant game, and varied landscapes. From your smartly-designed suite, enjoy the waving grasses of the flood plains. A plunge pool, a reading area with a view, and a star deck provide countless hours of relaxation and variety. With access to varied, game-rich habitats, this camp is nestled beneath the trees of an ancient island forest. The Vumbura concession is leased from five villages via the Okavango Community Trust, a partnership that ensures that the benefits of ecotourism are shared with rural stockholders.

As its name indicates, Tubu is built into the trees, featuring elevated wooden walkways connecting 8 traditional style tents on raised platforms with picturesque views of the surrounding floodplains accessible from a private deck. Each suite has an ensuite bathroom and an indoor and outdoor shower.
At Tubu, experienced, passionate guides are ready to deliver wildlife experiences few other locations can match. Days 7-8 Linyanti Concessions, Duma Tau Camp
Depart Tubu Tree Camp for 30-minute flight to Duma Tau Camp.
Days 7 and 8 will be spent at Duma Tau Camp located in the Linyanti system, part of a series of private game reserves known for its exotic animal species and camp offerings. Here you will see an abundance of wildlife, such as herds of impala, blue wildebeest, giraffe, and, most commonly, elephants. “DumaTau” means “roar of the lion,” but it is likely to be the elephants that make the greatest impression here as this area boasts a higher density of these animals than anywhere else in the world. Day and night game drives, nature walks, and boat tours demonstrate the ever-changing and limitless viewing opportuntiies.
The Linyanti is recognised as an IBA (Important Bird Area), so you’ll be happy to know that your camp suite overlooks the lagoon, providing fascinating bird watching opportunities from the comfort of your deck. Duma Tau Camp operates completely on solar energy for hot water, lighting and other energy needs, so you can feel good about minimizing your travel carbon footprint.
