You also visit Angkor Thom, built by Angkor’s greatest king Jayavarman VII and surrounded by a moat that is 330 feet wide. Visits around Angkor Thom include Ta Phrom, a temple that has been left to the jungle, looking very much the way most of the monuments appeared when European explorers first stumbled upon them, Ta Keo, the first Angkorian monument built entirely in sandstone, and Bontey Kdei, a massive Buddhist temple surrounded by four concentric walls. Continue on to Preh Khan, similar to Ta Prohm but in much better condition, Sras Srang a basin containing an island once bearing a wooden temple and Kravann, built for Hindu worship in 921.
