What did surprise us, though, was the depth of exploration to be had in this previously impenetrable destination, and the openness of the guides to share their country and their stories with us.
When done correctly, a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a safe, eye-opening experience that provides insight into a culture that is vastly different than the culture of the United States. If you’re OK with a few ground rules (such as, alcohol is forbidden), then get ready for the cultural exchange of your life.
