Uros or Uro Islands is a group of islets in Lake Titicaca off Puno, Peru. The Uros people originally created these artificial islands out of bundles of dried Totora reeds. The islands provided a defense against the rival Incas. Travelers can visit the islands on a day trip from Puno to learn about the Uro traditional way of life.
