Costa Rica: A Birder’s Paradise
January 22, 2016
Journeys co-founders Joan and Will Weber are in Costa Rica this week on a birding trip. We’ll keep you updated as they explore this paradise.
Hola from the intense green bird-filled wonderland of Costa Rica! It’s a gorgeous day here—temps in the high 70s and fresh clear air.
We are loving our view from the window of our room at Arenal Manoa Lodge, looking toward the volcano with the top (and only the very top) in clouds.
We were thrilled with our count of 73 bird species yesterday, our first full day in the field. We have a couple of serious birders in the group who added more than 30 new birds to their life lists. We also saw two-toed and three-toed sloths (as well as many other wildlife) very close-up. Everyone is excited by everything. Pura vida, indeed!
