Through New Eyes
Ann Arbor Community Trip to Israel
December 21, 2025-January 1, 2026
Even as Israel continues to face crisis and war, it remains a central touchpoint in Jewish identity. Remaining hopeful for an imminent end to the conflict and also mindful of opportunities to witness Israel’s reality safely, the leaders of Ann Arbor’s Jewish community have crafted this trip intentionally to engage both first-time travelers to Israel and seasoned returners. From the Negev Desert in the South to the Sea of Galilee in the North, and from ancient Jerusalem to modern Tel Aviv, we will fit a comprehensive collection of sites into this eleven-day trip. Even if you have been to some of these places, you will see them in new ways when you view them through the lenses presented by the people we meet through this incredible experience. Rabbi Josh Whinston, Rabbi Nadav Caine, and Rabbi Will Keller will be right there with us to share the experience and help process how to take it all home.
Sponsored in collaboration by the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor, Beth Israel Congregation, Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor, Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor, Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County, and Temple Beth Emeth.
